Rapid Dissolution of Cotton Cellulose

Description:

Cellulose is the most abundant, natural, renewable, and biodegradable polymer on earth. Cellulose from cotton has many applications such as, making paper products, making fibers for cloths, and as food additives. For most applications, cotton cellulose must first be dissolved. The structure of cotton and the strong network of hydrogen bonds make cellulose very stable; therefore, making it difficult to dissolve in water based or other common organic solvents.

This technology is a new method for the dissolution of cotton cellulose. This method is able to dissolve cotton cellulose in 15 minutes.
